MACHINE WASH
If you want to let your washing machine do the work to remove stubborn stains from your soccer jersey, we've got you covered with these steps:
1- Treat stains before washing
Remove any stubborn stains from your football jersey before putting it in the washing machine. Dampen the stain with cold water and apply a stain remover of your choice directly to the stain.
2- Separate colors for washing
If you’re wondering whether you should separate football socks, jerseys and shorts when washing, the answer is yes! Colours from other items of clothing can bleed through the wash cycle, so it’s essential to separate light and dark coloured items. Your football jersey will have different colour tones and is also likely made from different fabrics, each of which requires different care. Another washing tip is not to mix your football jerseys with other clothing, as for example, the zips and hooks on jeans can pull on the polyester fibres in your football jersey. Small fibres from cotton clothing can also stick to iron-on logos and numbers, affecting their appearance.
3- Turn your jersey inside out
Before placing your football jersey in the washing machine, turn it inside out to protect the badges, logos and seams from abrasion.
4- Select a machine wash in cold water on a delicate cycle
Use cold water in your wash cycle to prevent your football jersey graphics from fading, shrinking or becoming damaged by heat.
5- Use a bleach-free, color-safe detergent
Wash your soccer jersey with a bleach-free detergent powder for best results. Many liquid detergents contain ingredients that are harmful to polyester jerseys.
6- Hang and air dry
Turn the jersey right side out after removing it from the washing machine. We recommend not using a tumble dryer, as the high heat levels could cause the graphics and badges on your football jersey to melt. Instead, air dry your jersey in the shade or away from direct sunlight to prolong its lifespan. If you want to be extra careful, another tip is to protect your football uniform from direct sunlight by covering it with a thin cloth.
HAND WASH
Many of the steps for washing your swimsuit by hand are similar to those for washing in the washing machine, such as preparing your swimsuit for washing and air drying:
- Turn your football jersey inside out to protect the badges and applications.
- Fill a basin with slightly lukewarm water and add your detergent, then soak your football jersey for 10 to 15 minutes.
- For heavily soiled jerseys, use your hands to remove any stains or marks. Squeeze the jerseys and swirl the water around them to ensure the entire jersey is clean.
- Rinse your swimsuit with clean water to remove any soap residue.
- Squeeze it out to remove excess water.
- Hang it to air dry after turning it right side out.
It is always better to wash your swimsuit by hand rather than in the washing machine.
These easy steps to clean your football jersey can also be used for football shorts and socks. By following this care guide, your football jersey will look like new after every wash.
